The adidas x Parley collaboration exceeds the boundaries of product development. It aims to create awareness for the threat of marine plastic pollution and educate the next generation of ocean activists.
Run For The Oceans turned into a global movement that uses the power of running to fight for the future of our oceans. We created a toolkit to activate running crews, influencers and local communities from all over the world to participate in a global charity run. Adidas pledged to match each KM run with $1 for the Parley Ocean Plastic program. Within one month more than 900,000 participants ran over 12,000,000 kilometres.
In addition, adidas launched a brand new running shoe made from Parley Ocean Plastic™, the ULTRABOOST FW18 Parley. Each pair prevents approximately 11 bottles of plastic from entering the oceans. The eye-catching stop-motion video we made for the product campaign spotlights the unique upcycled plastic textile, using it as a canvas to tell its backstory with beautiful embroidery.
